Particularly Dangerous and Harmful for Dogs and Cats
Coffee for Dogs
Coffee is strictly prohibited for dogs, as it contains caffeine—a stimulant that can be extremely toxic to them. Even a small amount of caffeine can lead to serious problems, such as rapid heart rate, increased blood pressure, nervousness, tremors, seizures, and even death. Symptoms of caffeine poisoning can appear within hours of ingestion.
It is important to avoid any products containing caffeine, including coffee, tea, energy drinks, and chocolate. Coffee and other caffeine-containing products should be stored in places inaccessible to dogs to prevent accidental ingestion.
Coffee for Cats
Coffee is also extremely dangerous for cats. Caffeine affects the central nervous system of cats and can cause severe poisoning symptoms, including vomiting, increased agitation, rapid heart rate, seizures, and even death. Cats are more sensitive to the effects of caffeine than humans, and even a small amount can be deadly.
Coffee and other caffeine-containing products should never be included in a cat's diet and must be stored in inaccessible places. If you suspect that your cat has consumed something containing caffeine, contact a veterinarian immediately for assistance.
