Kukolka's Story: The Path to Recovery and a Happy Life

Kukolka is a gentle and friendly dog that has long been known and loved by visitors to Sayat-Nova Park in Vanadzor. She happily greets people, accompanies them on walks, and enjoys receiving treats. However, in late summer 2024, her condition suddenly worsened. She became lethargic, lost interest in the world around her, and concerning bloody discharge raised serious concerns.
Fortunately, a caring local resident, Konstantin, noticed these changes and brought her to our clinic. After a thorough examination, we diagnosed venereal sarcoma—a malignant tumor requiring immediate treatment. A decision was made to proceed with a course of chemotherapy.
The chemotherapy drug, Vincristine, was both rare and expensive, but thanks to the help of our friends from Tumanyan, who had previously assisted in treating Gata, we were able to obtain the necessary medication. Chemotherapy is a complex process that requires close monitoring. For four weeks, Kukolka underwent treatment, had regular blood tests, and remained under the watchful care of our veterinarians.
Throughout her treatment, volunteers such as Yulia were by her side, ensuring she was well cared for, bringing her food, and monitoring her condition. Their kindness and attention gave Kukolka confidence and comfort.
Over time, her condition began to improve—her tests showed positive results, her appetite returned, and she became more active. At the end of her treatment, she was able to return to the park, once again greeting visitors with her warmth and affectionate nature.
Kukolka's recovery was made possible thanks to the generosity of compassionate individuals. Her story is yet another reminder that together, we can save lives and bring hope to those in need.
