A remote consultation is not mysticism and not a "diagnosis from a photo". It is a normal working tool that helps quickly understand the situation, collect the necessary information, rule out dangerous scenarios, and build a clear action plan.
That plan explains what to do at home right now, what to monitor, which tests or in-clinic examinations may be needed, and within what timeframe.
At our clinic, online consultations are available by appointment. In an emergency, when time is critical, you can message us on Telegram. We will reply as soon as possible.
When does a remote consultation help?
The ideal situation is when your pet already has a diagnosis or is under our care, and you need to уточнить the course of treatment - what is normal and what requires an urgent visit.
A remote appointment is also convenient for reviewing test results, a medication schedule, nutrition, aftercare following procedures, preparation for vaccinations, choosing parasite protection, and dealing with behavior and adaptation issues.
If you are far from the clinic or cannot come soon, an online consultation often works as a quick check. We assess the risks and honestly tell you whether home monitoring is a reasonable first step, or whether in this case it is better not to take chances and come in for an examination.
When can online not replace an in-person visit?
Some things cannot be done remotely: palpating the abdomen, checking the heart and lungs, running tests, performing an ultrasound, or taking an X-ray.
That is why, if there is suspicion of an acute condition, trauma, severe pain, difficulty breathing, seizures, marked weakness, inability to move, or a sudden deterioration in how your pet feels - an in-person visit is required.
In such cases, an online consultation can only be a bridge: help you not waste time on the road and provide guidance on safe transport.
A separate point is medication. In most situations, when we are talking about drugs - especially antibiotics - an in-person exam is needed first. This is about safety. A diagnostic mistake at a distance can carry risks and consequences that are too high.
Conditions under which the consultation goes smoothly:
For an online consultation to be useful, we need input data. Otherwise, it becomes a pointless conversation.
Before the consultation, prepare information about your pet's age and weight, what they are fed, whether they have chronic conditions, current temperature, which medications they have taken in the last few days, and their vaccination and parasite-treatment status.
Photos and short videos in good lighting help a lot - close-up, without filters and without multiple repeated takes, filmed from a short distance. If you have test results, extracts from your pet's medical record, or X-ray or ultrasound images, send them in advance. In that case, the consultation will be as effective as possible.
It is important that during the call your pet is nearby, you have your hands free, and the internet connection is stable. A remote consultation is a mini-appointment - like a normal one, just without the trip.
How we organize an online consultation:
At the first stage, our doctor asks brief questions and quickly assesses the risks.
Then the doctor either agrees with you on safe care and monitoring recommendations with clearly defined criteria like "if this appears - contact us", or immediately invites/directs you to an in-person visit with your pet and specifies which examinations will bring the most benefit.
As a result, you do not leave with the feeling "they told me something general" - you get a specific plan of action. And yes, sometimes the best plan is an in-person visit. That is also a result, even if not the one you were hoping for.
