Archibald came to us from the street, soaked, funny and remarkably trusting. He received the care he needed at the clinic. The clinic, a friend of the project and people who had donated to the stray animal fund covered the bill together.
How Archie arrived at the clinic
We neutered Archie and removed an extra toe that was prone to injury. He received pain relief during the procedures. His recovery was smooth: he ate well, wagged his tail and kept looking for the people nearby.

Why the extra toe was removed
Some dogs have a dewclaw on the inside of the leg. Front dewclaws can play a role in movement, while rear or loosely attached ones often do not touch the ground. A long claw can catch on grass or wire, break and become inflamed. A vet decides whether removal is needed after examining the dog. Archie's extra toe was prone to injury, so we removed it.

How the treatment was paid for
Archibald's treatment cost AMD 56,000. Three sources covered the bill:
- the clinic contributed AMD 10,200;
- Konstantin from poodle.coffee (@poodle__coffee) paid AMD 18,000;
- AMD 27,800 came from the clinic's donation box for stray animals.

The people helping Archibald
Volunteer Louise took Archibald into foster care. She is looking after him and helping him find a permanent home. Konstantin helped with the bill, while clinic visitors had already raised part of the amount through their donations.
Today Archie is healthy, affectionate and waiting for his person. Louise is looking for a permanent home for him. Archibald will greet you at the door and furrow his brows in a funny way.

How to help other stray animals
Thank you to everyone who helped Archie. His AMD 56,000 bill was covered by the clinic, Konstantin and donations from people who donated through the box on our counter. To help the next animal brought in from the street, you can donate through the box on our counter or ask the volunteers what support they need now.
